CANADA FUND FOR LOCAL INITIATIVES (CFLI) 2014-2015 AWARDED PROJECTS
The Embassy of Canada is pleased to announce that it is funding the following projects through the 2014-2015 Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) program:
- Early marriage in villages under Shar Mountain (by OZON)
- Raising awareness among girls from rural areas about continuing education (by the Association for Education and Family Care)
- Empowering women in agricultural sector and create market linkages (by the Initiative for Agricultural Development of Kosovo)
- Open Data Kosovo (by Open Data Kosovo)
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) provides direct funding assistance to community groups, non-government organizations, people’s organizations and in exceptional cases, international NGOs, and government institutions for small projects addressing governance, democracy, capacity-building, economic, and other social development issues. The four projects above were selected from amongst more than 100 applications. The Embassy is working in cooperation with the Kosovar Civil Society Foundation, which is responsible for local coordination.
Ambassador Louise LaRocque will visit all four projects in Kosovo in the coming weeks
