PERCEIVED IMPACT
Initial motivation of people to gather, and the final goal of civil society – in its broad sense – is the improvement of living conditions within their communities. However, measuring such an impact is very difficult since it depends on many different factors.
The impact of the civil society in major issues in Kosovo such as economic development and rule of law is considered to be weak. Whereas, support for the impoverished and marginalized groups, education and humanitarian aid are the fields where civil society is seen to have a larger impact. Regarding the trust that the citizens have for the civil society, this varies depending on the sector. Humanitarian and charity organizations enjoy the highest level of trust from the general public, followed by youth, arts, music and education organizations, as well as organizations that deal with human rights.
