Basic Principles
Although there are differences depending on the type of organization, the basic principles of internal governance for civil society organizations are: the existence of a clear mission and activity within this mission, existence of internal structures with clear and divided responsibilities, the relation of the highest governing body with other structures within the organization, regular financial management, transparency and accountability towards stakeholders, ethical standards of work and behavior (code of conduct), the manner of decision-making, rules for managing conflict of interest, membership rules etc.
